Rak Su
During x-factor we saw that Rak Su hasn't changed much from their first audition to now. This is by x-factor not releasing an official music video of them singing their winners song but using the performance video instead. This suggests the Rak Su was near being the 'finished' product even before they started and acted in a way to bands normally would portray themselves and as a result didn't need a music video to show the difference which is not the case for most people who go on x-factor as they need to be constructed by the show normally.

James Arthur
Compared to Rak-Su we can see differences easily from James Arthur. When James Arthur first was on x-factor he wasn't portrayed in a way pop stars are. During his time at x-factor his physical appearance changes as at first he teeth aren't 'perfect' but this was sorted out by x-factor as the perfect pop star will have to look appealing to the audience by their appearance. This was proven by Richard Dyer's theory as the start he was seen as a 'real person' but as his appearance changed he became much more constructed and fiction based. In addition to that in James Arthur's music video of 'Say you won't let go' we can relate back to Goodwin's theory. You could argue that the 'Illustration' stage of his theory was used as there's a story in the music video of a life of a couple. Also in this music video we saw 'Amplification'. This is because during the music video we see the scene is set as an emotional one and not a happy one which relates to the song as no 'relationship' is perfect as he's singing about someone who should always stick by them.
